A manufacturer takes the material.
A trader has to buy below what a consumer will pay, or there is no business. A consumer only has to buy below what the raw feedstock costs.
Tungsten Parts Wyoming runs powder-to-part manufacturing in Laramie. We press and sinter tungsten and tungsten heavy alloy into finished components. Your scrap is our input, not our product, which is why we can bid past the middle of the market and still make sense of it.
We are pickier than a trader, too. A trader wants volume and does not much mind where it came from. We want the specific grades we actually run, and we need to know where they came from.

Origin does not reset in a recycler
This is the part almost nobody selling scrap has worked through yet, and it changes what your material is worth to a buyer.
DFARS 252.225-7052 is the Restriction on the Acquisition of Certain Magnets, Tantalum, and Tungsten. Through December 31, 2026 it restricts tungsten melted or produced in a covered country. From January 1, 2027 it expands to tungsten mined, refined, separated, melted, or produced there.
The tungsten chain explicitly includes recycled material. Passing through a recycling stream does not give tungsten a new country of origin, so a mixed-origin scrap stream stays a mixed-origin scrap stream no matter how many furnaces it has seen.
Read that from your side of the transaction. If you supply defense programs and you sell tungsten scrap into an anonymous stream, nobody can say afterwards where it went or what it became. That is a documentation problem, and it arrives on a fixed date.
We can hand the paperwork back. Not because we are more virtuous than a trader, but because we received the material and kept the record.

Same relationship, same shipping lane, same people. USA Tungsten already runs a buyback on the bucking bar side, so this is a proven arrangement inside the business rather than a new promise.

The questions behind the questions
What is the difference between a tungsten manufacturer and a scrap broker?
A broker buys your material to resell it at a spread and never touches it. A manufacturer consumes it. Tungsten Buyers is the buying arm of Tungsten Parts Wyoming, which runs powder-to-part tungsten manufacturing in Laramie, Wyoming, so your material becomes product on our own floor. That is why we can bid past what a trader can pay.
Does DFARS 252.225-7052 apply to recycled tungsten?
Yes. The clause explicitly reaches recycled material, so country of origin does not reset because tungsten has been through a recycling stream. Through December 31, 2026 the restriction covers material melted or produced in a covered country. From January 1, 2027 it expands to material mined, refined, separated, melted or produced there. The covered countries are China, Russia, Iran and North Korea.
Why does origin documentation matter when I am selling scrap?
If you supply defense programs, your tungsten scrap is becoming a documentation problem rather than just a disposal problem. Selling into an anonymous scrap stream means nobody can say where the material went. We can hand back a record of what we received and where it went, which is worth considerably more after January 2027 than a couple of cents a pound.

Tungsten Parts Wyoming operates to ISO 9001 and AS9100D and is ITAR-registered, manufacturing tungsten components in Laramie, Wyoming.
